Mirunaalini Alagarajah (Meera)

UX Designer

Hello, I'm Meera, a UX designer with a distinctive background in healthcare and a strong passion for designing meaningful, human-centered digital experiences. With a bachelor’s degree in Dentistry and eight years of experience in the healthcare industry, I developed a deep understanding of people, empathy, and problem-solving—skills that naturally led me to discover and pursue a career in UX design.

Motivated by curiosity and creativity, I began exploring UX through self-directed learning, online courses, and personal projects. I also taught myself the fundamentals of coding to better understand the development process and collaborate more effectively with engineers.

This growing passion led me to take a bold step: enrolling in a Master’s program in User Experience and Service Design at Loughborough University. Here, I’ve been sharpening my skills, tackling real-world design challenges, and expanding my perspective as a designer.

As I approach graduation, I’m eager to join a collaborative team as a Junior UX Designer—somewhere I can continue to grow, contribute meaningfully, and help shape experiences that genuinely improve people’s lives.

I’m currently competing in the Ford Fund Challenge and developing my final major project, which explores the wellbeing impact of excessive screen use—a topic I feel strongly about and am excited to design for.
