Re-designing a Dashboard for Silla.

Our analysis of the current dashboard
What's the problem?
The client wanted us to re-design the dashboard improving user experience, navigation and possibly add some gamification features. They found it hard to maintain user retention.
Who are the users?
Since it is a yoga/meditation site, so based on user research, the key user group is 30-50 year old women.
Why should we care?
Silla provides a lot of videos, information and classes for those who want to easily access online meditation or yoga services. However, having a complex and confusing website will make it hard for any user and ultimately mean these resources will be unused, and the business will suffer as a result.

How did we fix it in 1 day?
Data collection and analysis:
Carried out brief primary user research and secondary research to understand core user issues.
Competitor comparison.
Analysis of existing dashboard against common heuristic principles.
Sense making:
User personas.
User journey mapping.
Ideation and design
Idea generation and wireframing.
Mid-hi fidelity re-design of dashboard.
Features added/amended.
Final client meeting
Creation of slides and finalising dashboard.
Presentation to client.
What did we change?
Based on user research and client brief:
Simplified the dashboard's text, layout and colour palette.
Created two UI's - allowing users to toggle between meditation and yoga.
Easier navigation with clearer labels.
Gamification - levels, badges earned and progress bars.
Added a social media/post feed
What did the client think? Was it a success?
The client was impressed with our professional presentation, attention to detail, in depth understanding of user needs and ability to justify decisions with user data.
The final outcome was taken onboard to Silla's development team to implement.
As a team, we were awarded 'Best brand'.
